Es gibt Orte, an denen kommt man als Landschaftsfotograf nicht vorbei, weil sie bei einer Reise zu einem gewissen Ziel einfach dazu gehören. Und es gibt die Orte wie diesen auf dem Foto.
Orte, die niemand kennt und die nicht in jedem Portfolio jedes Landscchaftsfotografen auftauchen. Wir fanden diesen Wasserfall im Wald irgendwo in der Nähe von Laerdal. Nachdem wir einfach darauf los dem Fluss gefolgt sind, den wir von der Straße aus gesehen haben.
Der Weg durch das dichte Gestrüpp und das unwegsame Gelände haben sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt. Ich liebe dieses Foto, weil es für mich genau das symbolisiert, was Landschaftsfotografie ausmacht – Neue Orte mit der Kamera entdecken. Die Langzeitbelichtung mit dem LEE Big Stopper und der enorme Detailreichtum dank Exposure Blending rundet dieses Foto im Gesamten ab.
There are places you cannot skip when you go on a journey to a dedicated destination. And there are places like the one in the photo.
Places nobody knows and nobody has ever before photographed. Places that will not be found in every landscpe photographers portfolio around the globe. We found this place somewhere near Leardal. We parked at the roadside and followed the river we saw from the street upstream.
The hard way was well worth the effort. I love this shot as it – for me – represents the essentials of landscape photography – exploring new places with your camera. The long exposure with the LEE big stopper and the realistic detailed look achieved with exposure blending make a pretty nice photo.
