Beschreibung
Milford Sound – one of the most known places of the fiordland national park with more rain someone can be comfortable with. 2 of 3 days you’ll stay inside of heavy rain and so you will see almost nothing of the mitre peak, which is the highest mountain of the milford sound (1.692 metres). In this case I was really lucky to be there on a day with almost no rain an lots of gaps in the clouds. I drove the milford road and halfway there the clouds began to clear.
In the fiord you will instantly lose all sense for scale. 300 metre high waterfalls look tiny next to 1000 metre high mountains to which you look up from sea level.
An absolutely amazing place which is definitely worth a visit even when it is raining.
