Für manche Menschen mag die Sichtung eines wilden Killerwals nichts besonderes sein. Ich gehöre auf jeden Fall nicht zu diesen Menschen. Als ich in Australien auf einer Walhaitour war bot sich uns mehr durch Zufall ein absolutes Spektakel.
3 wilde Killerwale jagten im offenen Meer ein Buckelwalbaby, welches von seiner Mutter beschützt wurde. Dabei gingen die Orcas sehr taktisch vor und Augie, der Killerwal auf dem Foto, springt nicht etwa vor Freude aus dem Wasser, sondern um laute Geräusche zu machen, die verhindern, dass das Buckelwalbaby ins offene Meer zurückschwimmt.
Für mich war das einer der vielen Highlightmomente meiner Australienreise und wenn man aus dem Orca-fernen Deutschland kommt ist das ein wirklich beeindruckendes Erlebnis.
Some people might not be impressed by the sight of a wild killerwhale. I definitely am not belonging to this group of people. As we went to a whaleshark tour in the Australian Ningaloo Reef we could witness a sight not very common to Germans.
3 wild killerwhales were on the hunt for a humpackbaby which was protected by its mother. The hunt of the Orcas is very tactic and Augie – the whale on the picture – is not jumping out of the water because of fun but to make loud noise which prevents that the humpbacks are going back to deeper waters.
For me that was one of many highlight moments of my Australia journey and a sight you are not used to because of the lack of Orcas in Germany.
