Was man dabei erlebt bleibt allerdings im Gedächtnis.

What makes photography so special for me is – besides the photos – the experiences you make while you’re out in the nature. Often enought you get home with a memory card full of crap but the experience cannot be taken from you.

This shot was one of those, where the experience is much better than the photo itself. I stood at the edge of the field searching for the best composition. My camera was a few metres away from where I stood. As I found a good angle and was up to get my camera I apparently moved a bit to quick for the fields inhabitants. It seemed like the whole field started shaking and suddenly a deer jumped out of the field right next to me. It stared at me like it was trying to say something like „What the f*** are you doing here? I was sleeping!“. There we stood and both of us did not know how to act best. The deer took the initiative and jumped away still cursing very loud.

Unfortunately I have no photo of this deer but when I watch the shot of the field I will always remember this situation. And this is what is so special about photography. You do not just take a photo but preserve all emotions, memories and feelings of this moment.
